Dr. Peter Stephenson

Executive Director, Company Director, Gastroenterologist

Montserrat Day Hospitals is the vision of Dr. Stephenson who has been a specialist physician since 1972 and a registered Gastroenterologist since 1978 when he went into private practice. Peter has a large practice in Brisbane and in 2004 alone carried out over 2000 endoscopic procedures. Peter has procedure lists and consults from all Montserrat Day Hospitals, and is trained in the provision of small bowel capsule endoscopy services.

Peter became Executive Director of Montserrat Day Hospitals in May 2006.

Ms Leith MacMillan

Business Development Manager

Leith's extensive career path has taken her from originally Registered Nurse to Business Development Manager for Montserrat Day Hospitals. Her ambition, strength and passion has enabled her to provide strategic direction and significant company growth. After joining Dr Stephenson's practice she was responsible for the development of the endoscopy facility in his private consulting rooms. It was then that Leith facilitated the design and development of the first Day Hospital at Astor Terrace followed by the second site at Indooroopilly in 1998 and Gaythorne in 2003.

Leith's membership and active involvement with numerous support organisations external to Montserrat Day Hospitals attributes to her prominance within the wider health care community. She is the Chairperson of the Australiasian Day Surgery Association, member of the Australian Assocation of Practice Managers, member of the Society of Gastroenterolgical Nurse Association of Australia, member of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and member of the Australian Institute of Management.

Leith obtained a Certificate in Management from the Australian Institute of Management and is currently completing an MBA specialising in health.
